What bud bud collects today, why, and what you can ask us to delete — kept honest and current as the product grows past this waitlist.
what we collect
Right now: the name, email address and interest note you give us when applying for the beta. If you're selected and activate your invite on Telegram, the bot also sees whatever Telegram itself hands over — your Telegram ID, username and first name — plus the messages you send it. We also record which part of the page you applied from, where you arrived from, your browser's user agent, and a one-way hash of your IP address used to rate-limit the form. The raw IP address is never stored. Once bud bud itself is live more broadly, this section will describe what the product collects — that language is being written with counsel.
why we collect it
The name, email address and interest note you submit when applying are used for exactly one thing: deciding who to invite to the beta and reaching the people we pick, on Telegram. The referrer, UTM parameters and page section you applied from tell us which channels are worth paying attention to — nothing more. The IP hash exists only to stop the form being abused to spam itself; it is never matched back to an address or used to identify you.
who can see it
Three services touch this data today. Convex hosts the waitlist database. Vercel hosts this website and, through Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, collects anonymized traffic and performance numbers — no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no ad pixels. Telegram is what you talk to directly once you're invited, under its own privacy policy. We don't use any advertising, marketing or data-broker service, and no one outside the people building bud bud can see a raw application.
what we never do
We never sell your data. We never hand your application to advertisers or data brokers. We never use your interest note, or anything you say to bud on Telegram, to train a model without asking you first — if that ever changes, this page will say so before it happens, not after.
your controls
You can always ask us to delete your application — including your interest note — and we'll confirm once it's done. A dedicated address for that is on its way; until it's published (see contact, below), the fastest way to reach us is through whichever channel you used to hear about bud bud. If you're on the beta, blocking or deleting your chat with bud on Telegram stops it from seeing anything new, and the same request clears what it already remembers about you.
how long we keep it
Applications we don't pick are kept while the beta is open, in case a later round has room, and deleted after that or sooner on request. If you're selected, the data behind your beta account is kept for as long as you keep using bud bud, plus a short window afterwards so you can pick back up without reapplying.
